Awesome!!! Orange Dream Bars

 

WHAT TO GET

 

BARS

1 boxed white or yellow cake mix

1 tablespoon frozen orange juice concentrate

1/3 cup canola or vegetable oil

2 eggs, lightly beaten

zest from 1/2 orange

1 cup white chocolate baking chips

 

TOPPING

1 small package vanilla instant pudding

1 tablespoon frozen orange juice concentrate

1-1/4 cups milk

zest from 1/2 orange

 

butter for cake pan

 

13 x 9 inch cake pan, buttered

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

 

In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, 1 tablespoon of frozen orange juice concentrate, oil, eggs and orange zest. Add the white chocolate baking chips. Pour into the buttered pan and spread evenly. Bake 14-18 minutes until light golden brown around the edges.

 

Just before you take the bars out of the oven, mix together in a clean bowl, the dry pudding, 1 tablespoon of frozen orange juice concentrate, milk and orange zest. Beat for 2 minutes with a wire whisk.

 

Take the bars out of the oven and immediately poke holes in the dessert at 1-inch intervals using a wooden spoon handle. Pour half the topping mixture over the warm dessert. Let the rest of the pudding chill and thicken for 5-10 minutes. Frost the slightly cooled bars with the chilled pudding mixture.

 

Cool, cut into bars and keep refrigerated.
